For some background: I have vitiligo, an autoimmune disorder which causes my white blood cells to freak out, go into overdrive, and attack my pigment cells, causing white spots. It’s not life-threatening. Currently, there are treatments but no cure and it causes a lot of people at the very least some bullying and grief.
My spots started to develop when I was 12 years old (yay, puberty!), and while I wasn’t comfortable with them for a while, I’ve come to accept and love my difference.
