The 2015 VMAs used the power of the Internet to power our marketing.
It all started with a green screen. From TV spots to taxi tops, all creative contained our favorite VMA talent in front of the flashy neon backgrounds with a drive to MTVVMA.NET. There, users clicked into a smooth and simple site that gave users access to download all the assets they’d ever need to stir their creativity into making some cool VMA content for us — think our host Miley Cyrus riding a giant cat behind a screen screen cool.
The Internet turned out and create they did. Users upload their art to MTVVMA.NET or shared on their socials with #VMA, which we were ultimately able to use to promote our show on digital, social, and onair.
